Bank House Farm is in the village of Little Salkeld in the heart of the Eden Valley, we are directly on the c2c route at the bottom of the pennines before the big climb's up Hartside pass, 1.1 miles away from Langwathby and 6.5 miles from Penrith Junction 40 of the M6  A short Drive from us is Ullswater, Keswick, Grasmere and Ambleside the heart of the Lake District.

For People doing the C2C 

We are 59 miles from the start in Whitehaven, 28 miles from Keswick, 68 miles to Newcastle, 75 miles to Sunderland and 80 miles to Tynemouth (these are all estimate)

 

Perfect for staying at for a 2, 3 or 4 day cycle journey.

Your welcome to stay for one night or to use us as a base for the whole of your journey.

Food and Drink 

Eating Out.

There are lots of local pubs and cafes nearby all serving food and drink.

We highly recommend the Shepherds Inn Langwathby which serves very good pub meals in a very friendly atmosphere,

If you are wishing to eat here, we advise that you call and book a table.

Post office/Nisa Local Langwathby is 1.2 miles away which offer fresh and frozen food, off licence and cash withdrawals.

Opening times are 6.30am - 7.00pm Monday - Saturday 7.30am - 7.00pm Sunday.

Long Meg and her Daughters.

One of the finest stone circles in the North of England, the circle has a diameter of about 350 feet, the second biggest in the country. Long Meg is the tallest of the 69 stones, about 12 feet high, with three mysterious symbols, its four corners facing the points of the compass and standing some 60 feet outside the circle.

Ulsswater Steamers, Lowther Castle and Gardens, Aira Force waterfalls, Dalemain House, Carlisle to Settle Railway, Hutton in the Forest, Winlater and Grizdale Forest, Lakeland Bird of pray center, Brougham Castle And Brougham Hall. To name a few.
